Game 3 heads to Portland’s Moda
Center for what could turn out to be the most pivotal game of the series. The
Blazers were able to steal an ugly game 2 in Denver, thanks in large part to
the Nuggets poor shooting. Denver scored just 12 points in the 2nd
quarter; which was its lowest scoring quarter in franchise history in a home
playoff game.
Both teams played solid defense at
times. Damian Lillard was held to 14 points; the Nuggets out rebounded the
Blazers 58-47
including a 23-7 edge on the offensive glass. Yet Portland was able to head home with a series
tied at 1-1.
Game 3 should an up-tempo Portland
style game. The Blazers are 3-0 at home in the playoffs and owned the NBAs 2nd
best home record. Denver has proven they can win on the road in the playoffs.
In addition the Nuggets have won a few games in Portland in recent years
including a 113-112
win earlier this season. These teams know each other well, and this will be a
physical game that comes down to capitalizing on mistakes.

Bottomline
Each game is different. The
Playoffs show each teams weakness. Portland may be too much of an isolation
team. Denver has stretches of horrible shooting. Although Portland walked out with
a game 2 win, remember that Denver out rebounded and out assisted the Blazers. Game
3 will be decided by free throws and 3-point shooting.
The Plays
After a hard fought and physical game 2 expect some players at less
than 100%. The Under has been on fire in this year’s playoffs stick with it
